Mr. Allen — Derrel Allen to his friends, Mr. Allen to his audiences — has been performing magic professionally across the Dallas-Fort Worth area since the 1990s. He's the magician behind Will Astound You Experiences, the rebrand of a 30-year DFW magic career formerly known as Party Magician MrGoodfriend.
What started as a side passion next to a corporate IT career evolved into something different: comedy and close-up magic built for grown audiences, corporate floors, and family tables. Different venues, different audiences, same hands, same instinct for what makes a room come alive.
Why "Mr. Allen"?
The name on the badge is the name on the show. When Derrel began transitioning the kids-party MrGoodfriend brand into something built for adults and corporate work, the new identity needed to feel personal, professional, and instantly memorable. Mr. Allen does all three.
The MrGoodfriend years brought magic to thousands of birthday parties, daycare centers, school events, and family gatherings across the DFW area. That work matters. It built the reputation, the experience, and the credentials. But the show today is different, and the name reflects it.

Will Astound You Experiences serves five core types of events across the DFW Metroplex:
Corporate and hospitality events — trade shows, client appreciation, hospitality suites, conference entertainment.
Private parties — milestone birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, holiday gatherings.
Restaurant residencies and dining magic — including Wednesday nights at Lazy Dog Allen.
Faith-based and community events — family nights, fundraisers, church gatherings, community festivals.
Stage and comedy club appearances — including occasional performances at Magic In The Living Room (Back Door Comedy Club, Dallas).
The magic itself ranges from close-up table-side work to full stage shows, with versions built for kids, families, mixed crowds, and adults-only audiences. Every show is tailored to the room. Mr. Allen doesn't do "one show for everyone." He does the show your event needs.
